High School Sweethearts

High School Sweethearts

I thought I’d spin the tale of how I met my husband to be.

We met in our residential high school. (it’s secluded off and is almost like it’s own little town. Lookep up Pelican Falls First Nations High School if you are curious)
We became friends first, which grew to best friends.
Everyone knew we were in love with each other except for us. We remained in denial to that fact.
His friend Nancy asked him about us and he said “were just friends” then she replied “no, were friends, you and Emma? More then friends” and I had the same type of conversation with a friend of mine.

We didn’t really ask each other out-it just happened.
We were out for a walk and standing around outside my boarding-house. It was winter and my hands were cold.
He rubbed my hands with his to warm them and our hands lingered-holding hands for a couple minutes then wevlet go really fast and started to talk about random stuff. My thoughts were chaotic.Jeremy and Emma

It was close to the school curfew so we went inside my house for a while so he could warm up. When he was about to go I gave him a good night kiss on his cheek (I usually did), my lips hovered for a while, then he turned his face and kissed me.
I kissed him back and we held each other tightly. Everything felt so right.

Then we were giggling and holding each other by the door when my housemate walked in from being out. She was recording us with her digital camera and said something about the uncouple finally being a couple and having evidence of the first moments.

I love him as much as I did back then/even more.

I still find it funny that practically the whole school knew we were in love before even ourselves. The reaction we got the next day was basically “about time”

We’ve been together for roughly six years on and off.
